Why you should join us…

Our Dance Academy welcomes boys and girls from 4 years old. MHDA provides a safe place for young people to express themselves, build confidence, improve fitness and nurture those vital skills for life.

At MHDA we have created a unique learning environment where our littlest dancers are immersed in a magical world of wonder and our older students are equally nurtured and challenged to reach their full potential. We understand it is a necessity for dance classes to be fun and engaging so our dancers are able to grow in confidence, feel comfortable and assured that they’re being guided by teachers who love teaching. Dance requires commitment and discipline which is an essential life skill and a key driver of success in any and all walks of life.

The MHDA team are all professional and DBS checked (teaching Cechetti, ISTD, ABD and I-PATH syllabi in different dance genres) with extensive experience, knowledge and passion for their subjects and regular investment in our teams CPD.

OUR CLASSES

PRE PREPARATORY

45 minutes, £26 per month

Our weekly pre preparatory class is a combined class of ballet, modern, theatre craft and tap for 4-6 year olds. Building on performance skills, magical choreography and technique through syllabus work, children will be developing physical skills, stamina, creativity, expression and musicality.

PREPARATORY

1 hour and 15 minutes, £34 per month

Our weekly preparatory class is for approximately 6-8 year olds.
With ballet being the backbone of dance, children will be focussing on 30 minutes of technical ballet exercises followed by jazz/theatre craft syllabus work and fun choreography along with tap exercises and routines. Children will have the opportunity to take part in graded exams from this age group.

ELEMENTARY

1 hour and 30 minutes, £36 per month

Our weekly elementary class is for approximately 8-12+ years. Pupils will commit to 30 minutes of Cechetti ballet exercises, improving technique and ability, they will gain 40 minutes of jazz/theatre craft syllabus work and current choreography. The class will also include 20 minutes of tap, instilling great rhythm and fitness! Elementary pupils will focus on refining their dance skills and take advantage of the opportunities to further their love of dance.

INTERMEDIATE

1 hour and 30 minutes, £36 per month

Our weekly intermediate class, purely based on ability, consists of 30 minutes of Cechetti ballet syllabus work and precise choreography, 45 minutes of jazz/theatre craft exercises along with challenging choreography and finally 15 minutes of strengthening exercises tailored to suit a dancers body including pointe preparation or pointe exercises (depending on the individual). Inters will be taught at a professional pace. Whether for fun and friendship or to prepare for full-time dance training, the MHDA dancers are encouraged to fulfil their own personal goals.

FUSION

1 hour - 1 hour 15 minutes, £26 per month*
*or £5 pay as you go for membership holders

We offer two Fusion classes; Mixed Age and Intermediate. A combined class of commercial dance and musical theatre. Commercial dance pulls moves from jazz, hip hop and street dance, but also, for entertainment purposes, might also include ballet or even musical theatre. Musical theatre focuses on theatrical performances, combining songs, spoken dialogue and dance. It’s the ultimate fun performance based class and MHDA’s most loved class!

We are a multi award winning dance school, who also has a 100% pass rate in examinations.
For committed students, we offer; annual showcases, graded examinations, a progression award programme, an annual presentation evening, in-house dance competitions, national dance competitions and global performances.
